Get to know the crew

Louis has been a professional Master at sea for over a decade.
Growing up sailing dinghies he ended racing Fireflies on the inland waters of the UK with little success - guess he's always been a Cruiser!! After leaving school, he got his RYA Yachtmaster and went straight into yacht deliveries. After 4 years moving all types of vessels around the world, a change of pace was needed and having relocated back to the UK, he joined the Cirdan Sailing Trust, a UK based charity, taking disabled and disadvantaged young people out to sea, inspiring and empowering them.

The vessel he ran for the Cirdan Sailing Trust was Queen Galadriel, a 33m Baltic Trader from 1937, voyaging all around the coast of the UK and in 2019 a complete circumnavigation of the UK!! She is 120 tonnes of wood, iron and tradition and she pulled him up by his boots!!
After 5 years with Cirdan, he stepped back as Master on Galadriel, instead taking up the mantle of Trustee, and retraining as a MCA Master 200.

In 2024 he sold his soul and went into the renewable energy sector, now working as a Master on a CTV servicing the windfarms mostly in the North West of the UK but sometime further a field in Europe. He spends his free time either fly fishing or on the good ship Antares.
The long suffering Partner...
Rose is originally from Nottingham, Uk, moving to southern Lincolnshire as a child, before going on to study Fine Art at Lincoln Uni.
She currently in part of the management team of a cluster of venues based in the East midlands, working at a venue in Lincoln.
Rose met Louis in late 2022, when she was working behind the bar in the best pub in Lincoln, The Cardinals Hat, and since then her patience has been tested daily.
At the time of writing the only sailing experience Rose has had, is the ferry from Southampton to Cowes, Isle of Wight.......... Wish her luck!!
